Food & Stay

Food & Stay

Sanya is not only about beaches. A good meal, a cold dessert, and the right hotel area can shape the whole trip.

Local Taste

Add these flavors to the trip

You do not need to eat everything. A few local tastes are enough to make the journey feel clearly Hainanese.

01

Wenchang Chicken

A classic Hainan dish with tender chicken, clean flavor, and dipping sauce. A good first proper meal in Sanya.

02

Seafood

Best saved for dinner. Confirm the weight, price, cooking style, and any processing fee before ordering.

03

Coconut Chicken

A light hot pot with a sweet coconut broth, especially comforting after a sunny beach day.

04

Qingbuliang

A chilled Hainan dessert with coconut milk or ice, plus mixed toppings. Perfect for warm evenings.

Where To Stay

Choose your hotel area by travel style

Sanya's main hotel areas feel quite different. Decide whether you want convenience, sunset walks, or a quieter resort stay.

Sunset & City

Sanya Bay

Good for first-time visitors, airport access, city convenience, and sunset walks along the coast.

Classic Resort

Yalong Bay

Best if beach time, hotel comfort, and a classic Sanya resort mood matter most.

Quiet & Spacious

Haitang Bay

A good fit for newer resorts and a slower pace, as long as you do not mind being farther from the city.

Food & Access

Dadonghai

Convenient for restaurants, transport, and evening walks, with a livelier base than the quieter bays.

Simple Rule

Choose the area first, then the hotel.

Sanya is easier when your hotel area matches your route. For three days, stay in one area. For four days or more, consider convenience first, then a resort bay for the slower part of the trip.
